MY TAKE: Comedian Jimmy Fallon's mocking of CNN's low ratings means both a long-overdue acknowledgement of a fact and a cue to the network to redeem itself

It is odd and interesting that a popular liberal-minded late night show host would attack a fellow Trump-hating cable news outlet at this time in broadcast history. I see two possible reasons: one, people like Fallon could no longer ignore what most viewers have observed for a few years now -- that of CNN losing about seventy percent (70%) of its audience and two, the 2024 presidential debates one of which is scheduled at CNN (of all places) would give the debate host Jake Tapper a chance to redeem himself from past embarrassments by playing fair this time.

The prospective redemption would certainly restore some respectability to the beleaguered news network as well as Tapper's own reputation as a journalist. It would be wise for anyone to heed the biblical admonition found in Proverbs 11:3 which says "The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them."
