Ex-President Rodrigo R. Duterte of the Philippines who once called God “stupid” was arrested by the Interpol in Manila and unceremoniously shuttled by private jet and detained at the Hague in the Netherlands by the International Criminal Court last Tuesday March 11, 2025. He appeared today in the court’s chambers to be formally informed of the charges preparatory to future hearings.

The controversial 79 year-old former Chief Executive is accused of “crimes against humanity” by families of upwards of six thousand alleged Filipino drug pushers and users who were reportedly “extrajudicially” killed by law enforcement officers and “death squads” on orders by Duterte between the time he was mayor of Davao City and when he was President of this Southeast Asian country.

At a later date after he made the blasphemous remark the beleaguered politician did publicly also say "Sorry, God".

In light of the above, consider the following biblical admonitions: “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.” (Proverbs 16:18); “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6)
