The sudden 180 degree turn-around decision today (January 26, 2025) by Colombia's President Gustavo Petro on his challenge to US President Donald J. Trump's warning about Colombia's refusal to accept deportation flights of illegal Colombian criminals from the U.S. should be enough to convince those who are trying to oppose Trump's legal enforcement of statutory immigration laws of the land to seriously heed his threat of slapping 25% or more tariff against those countries.

More so because would be non-cooperative nations such as Colombia would suffer far more than from the imposition of high tariffs alone. So much more! I would argue that this demonstration of Trump's decisiveness would serve well as a warning to the local politicians such as the mayor of Chicago who arrogantly declare that they would oppose "by any and all means" the new President's attempt to enforce existing laws.

As repeatedly stated by border czar Tom Homan, he would not hesitate to arrest anyone who would prevent ICE and other law enforcement agents from doing their sworn duty to search, nab, arrest and deport criminals who entered into this country illegally. Such attempt to thwart ICE’s operation is tantamount to "aiding and abetting" which is a crime in and of itself.

In a larger sense whether it's about illegal immigration or other issues that threaten U.S. national security Trump has proven during his previous term in office and in just the first few days since his inauguration this time around that he would not hesitate to do everything in his power to serve this country that he loves and protect its people and the principles it stands on even at the cost of his very life. This man's unquestionable personal resolve and God-given leadership ability is well established. The world at large is blessed by his presence and his devotion, thanks to the “Sovereign Power" Who saved his life on two assassination attempts.

(Food for thought: "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people." Proverbs 14:34 ESV)
